Well knights haven't had a home game yet?? And to my knowledge think they are away again at Shark Park next round. Bit odd. Hard to gain support and gain money for club with bar/canteen takings. But this seems to happen every year
I dont beleive that you guys got your prefrences in to FFT quick enough and when you did the Footy club had already been locked in? shared facilities doenst always help when it comes to rostering
Riverside's grounds are looking a picture and any club thats has been there so far this year will agree, The gournds will be set finished of just nicely with their new 3G Stadium goals that will be ready for the next home game.
Stadium goals. Are you serious? Why not invest some money into your tent size changerooms. They are the worst in the whole league. Everyother club in the last 10 years has done something to improve their facilities. What have you guys done? Bought new nets. Good job!
i would suggest most clubs didn’t have what Riverside had 10 years ago or will get close now as a whole, even now. the worst in the whole league? you sound sheltered in your travels. does that include clubs with out club rooms? Well aware change rooms need a touch of paint, no one said they weren't getting done from what i can see and who said that we invested/purchased the goals?
Because a clubs changerooms have a massive affect on teams each week dont they.. Shouldnt clubs be trying to improve their playing facilities.Somerset have improved their changerooms but the last couple of years their playing surface has resembled a paddock.Ulverstone have nice change rooms, but their pitch is horrible.Launceston have been building new facilities but their grounds can be crap to play on in the winter.Prospect Knights have brilliant new facilities but their pitch often resembles a paddock also.Whilst its nice to have new clubrooms and more room, you dont play your games in the changerooms.Clubs should be getting their pitches up to scratch before anything, in my humble opinion.
So when the heavy rain comes along will riverside still put sand on the pitch because it doesn't drain or what? Let me know how good it is when you play after a night that got over 40m rain. Knowing your a host of horrible change rooms that are disgraceful would be embarrassing wouldn't it?
How can you say all these grounds are like paddocks!! I remember playing at Windsor Park last year and the smell that was coming off your ground was disgusting! That section in the middle of your ground that no player wanted to run through was terrible. Made it so hard to play good football. We are not pigs rolling around in shit!!
Yes you are right Anon 12:50 we do not get a home game until round 6 which is not great financially and not that fair playing wise either. We are at Somerset next week which makes 4 out of first 5 games up the coast! Who knows why FFT have come up with this one. Still Prospect Park should be in reasonable shape when we finally get a home game!
Fair call, your visitors change rooms are a disgrace Riverside, your new goals would probably offer more protectionWhat was the logic behind that decision?
Logic being....They were given a government/local council grant for new goals, not new change rooms...I don't feel its that easy to knock down some change rooms and build some new ones when a club is run on the generosity of its players and members. Look at Launceston with their struggles to finish their club rooms and they have all the money pouring in from the Steve Hudson cup every yearDevonport had theirs burnt down and got some new onesCitys are the same standards as Riverside, just largerRangers use the NTCA's (not theirs)Prospect basically had theirs built for them to share with other codes (no offence intended to knights)Launcestons I would consider the worst, but good on them for building new
There's a solution. Burn em down and get new ones!
So the council approached the club and said, 'here's a grant for some new goals - not new changerooms, new goals' Surely the club would have had some input into this?No one is asking River to knock their changerooms down, just put a ceiling in it perhaps? And to be clear, this is no slight on the volunteers that turn up to support this and other clubs week in - week out. These people are the heart and sole of the game, and deserve our thanks and respect. As such, Im sure they were consulted about the decision to try and secure funding for new goals, as opposed to some improvements to the visitors changerooms.
The thing I notice most about these blog comments, is how no one really has any idea what they're talking about.
I notice annons make big calls, but because they are annon comments they have no credibility!
