Highlights and post game comments from Northern Rangers Vs Devonport Strikers

  1. From the video, you couldn't tell if the conditions were difficult or not, but judging from the footage shown, I would have to say that Rangers probably should have won this game, having not capitalised on some of the clearer-cut chances that were gifted to them by some of the Devonport players. In fact, all of the three goals scored on the day came from turnovers by the opposition. On another day, Rangers may have taken some of these chances and the result may have been different. I am not saying this to make the Devonport coaching staff aware of this constant defensive problem they seem to have as I am sure they are fully aware of it and are in the process of fixing it. Having said that, both these teams seem to be the front runners for this years title again, with a couple of other teams starting to put some good results together to challenge them. Lets hope it will be a close contest like it was last year. Good luck to all those teams with premiership aspirations.

    1. Devonport lead the shot count Snow & both teams missed clear cut chances. It was an enjoyable game to watch in VERY tough conditions. I thought both teams defended quite well considering the gale force winds.

Just checked the ladder & results & Devonport have only conceded 1 goal in the last 3 1/2 games so that's not too bad an effort.

Game of the round next up between Ulverstone & Rangers. Looking forward to checking it out - just a shame we have to wait till Saturday week to see it.

    2. I count 13 shots (six on target) for Devonport and 9 shots (four on target) for Rangers. There were four clear cut chances for each team that weren't taken.

  2. just watched this video and would like to make the comment that of the young brigade that performed well for the strikers. young gorrie/mcginn and curran. two 15 year olds and a 16 year old playing senior soccer and for what i watched done very well. first goal was created by one of the best crosses i have seen in years from daniel mcginn and the couple of through balls adam gorrie played were top class. jesse curran was also involved in much of the play and also had some tough customers to contain in the rangers midfield. the devonport club should be congratulated in playing these obviously very talented youngsters as they are the future.

    2. Anonymous 5:53pm... You must be a terribly sad and unfortunately illiterate human being. Since when has it been inappropriate or too parochial of anyone to suggest that some young talented lads played a good game?

It doesn't take a prophet or a visionary to figure out that the comment was from Devonport supporter. But does that mean they aren't allowed to praise the exploits of players on this site?

      Pathetic.
